The loose fit also allows unrestricted freedom of movement. The main focus of our 3-layer products is optimal breathability thanks to the integrated Dermizax® membrane. Dermizax® is a hydrophilic and non-porous membrane, developed and engineered in Japan. Or more simply said, it is a water loving film without holes, that’s responsible for the waterproofness and the breathability of your garment. If you sweat, the humidity inside your garment gets higher. The water loving PU inside the membrane attracts the humidity and leads it to the outside. You want to be dry inside your garment, because only then you will be comfortable. The newly developed QWR impregnation makes the outer fabric even more durably water-repellent than conventional DWR impregnations.
WASHING
You can wash our Shell products inside out at 40 degrees, gently, preferably without spinning. We recommend using a mild liquid detergent and rinsing the laundry twice, if possible, so that no detergent residues remain in the fabric. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. These can affect the water resistance (of the outer fabric) as well as the colour. This means that you can use your normal detergent if this is the case. Alternatively, you can use the special detergents for membrane garments available from specialist retailers. Close all zips before washing.
WASHING FREQUENCY:
Wash your Shell product according to use or degree of soiling. As a guideline, we recommend 1-2 washes per season.
REACTIVATE OR RENEW IMPREGNATION RENEW:
1. After washing, hang your Shell product to dry, preferably in the shade. 2. reactivate the existing impregnation by means of heat (iron or tumble dryer at max. 100 degrees). 3. The variant with the iron is the 3. gentlest variant for the textile. Place a kitchen towel between them for protection. 4. Check the functionality after reactivating by spreading water on the product. 5. if the water no longer beads up and wet/dark spots appear, it is time to renew the waterproofing. 6. Re-impregnate the shell product with a spray. We recommend Toko or Nikwax.

SERVICE
If all this is too complicated for you, you can also send us your Shell product and we will provide you with a professional washing and waterproofing service - Note on DWR (Durable Water Repellency) All our membrane products are treated on the outer fabric (surface) with a polymer impregnation known in the trade as DWR. When the product is new, this treatment ensures that the outer fabric repels water and dirt. As the product is used, the effect of the polymer treatment wears off, especially in exposed areas such as the buttocks, knees or shoulders. Don't worry, the product remains waterproof because the membrane is responsible for the waterproof function.
