The Penguin Brand: Our Story.
Penguin was founded over 20 years ago out of pure passion for freeriding. After a day in deep powder, the founders decided on a ski lift to create their own apparel—technically advanced, functional, and free from unnecessary frills. Since then, every collection has stood for uncompromising performance in the powder.
Our products follow the proven layering principle. We combine base and mid layers with breathable shell jackets and pants, where every detail is designed with purpose and versatility in mind. Avalanche transceiver-accessible zippers, strategically placed ventilation openings, and durable materials are no coincidence—they’re the result of years of real-world testing.
Made in Vietnam & Portugal
Production takes place where the expertise is greatest: shell apparel is developed in close collaboration with experienced partners in Vietnam, while merino base layers are made in Portugal. Regular quality checks and personal visits by our founder Tristan ensure high precision and quick adjustments.
Our service offering extends the value of our products: repair and reproofing for both Penguin and third-party brands help ensure your gear lasts. Shipping bags are available online, and our eco-friendly reproofing treatment is completely PFC-free.
