Project X Georgia
A unique freeride adventure in the Lesser Caucasus – authentic, untouched, and professionally organized.
Project X offers a unique freeride experience in a remote corner of the Lesser Caucasus, where heavy snowfall creates perfect conditions for deep powder adventures. This is not just another ski trip; it’s the chance to discover a completely new freeride destination, far from the crowds. The project is built on Swiss and German standards of professionalism, with a strong focus on quality and safety management.
Travel is refreshingly simple: no visa is required, and airlines offer convenient connections to Batumi. From there, it’s just a short transfer to one of the last true adventures in the world of freeride. Project X is raw, authentic, and made for those who seek more than the ordinary.
Accommodation
In 2022, we built a double cabin on an open space below the tree line. The area is sheltered from wind and avalanches.
The two cabins are connected by the living and dining area. Below the dining area are three bathrooms with a toilet, sink, and shower. We might even manage to build a sauna, but I’m not promising that yet.
The cabins offer a total of eight rooms for two groups. The rooms are equipped with bunk beds and designed for two, three, or four riders. Despite the simple accommodations, we provide a certain level of comfort. It’s back to our roots – it’s all about powder...
Orientation
A new terrain means plenty of adventure and uncertainty. Therefore, participating freeriders should have sufficient experience. It’s also advisable to carry climbing skins in your backpack. Not all of our guides are familiar with the area — it’s still new, so surprises are possible.
The accommodation is necessarily simple. Currently, we plan to host two groups on-site at the same time.
It is important that everyone understands that even getting there is not easy! Operating in such a remote location also places high demands on the equipment. Mechanical failures cannot be ruled out.
Catering
Your culinary needs are well taken care of. We have a local team of cooks and kitchen assistants who prepare the food fresh daily.
In the morning, we enjoy a hearty breakfast with muesli, fresh fruit, egg dishes, homemade jam, home-baked bread, and local specialties. For lunch, we prepare a lunchbox so we don’t lose time during the day. On bad weather days, we can always come inside and warm up with a hot soup or Burano, a warm cheese dish.
In the evening, typical Georgian dishes are served, including classics such as Lobio (traditional bean stew in a clay pot), Khinkhali (stuffed dumplings), Tolma (stuffed vine or cabbage leaves), and the famous Khachapuri (cheese bread). Georgian cuisine is hearty and diverse. Meals are served in bowls and on plates, so everyone can help themselves. We also accommodate various special diets (vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free).
