Advanced Freetour – Practice-Oriented Touring Day in Alpine Terrain

Climb with purpose. Ride with flow. Decide with confidence.

The Advanced Freetour is a practice-oriented day in alpine terrain for ski tourers and splitboarders who already bring solid experience and want to further develop their skills in unmanaged terrain.

Together with our experienced, professional guides, you’ll head beyond the ski area into true alpine terrain—where reading conditions, assessing risks and making smart decisions really matter. The focus is clearly on combining safety, efficiency and maximum enjoyment. Theory is delivered exactly when it’s needed: directly out on the tour, in real situations.

What to expect

  • Practice-focused freetouring in alpine terrain
  • Correct interpretation of the avalanche situation, tailored to the specific tour
  • Snow and terrain assessment directly in the field
  • Technical fine-tuning for both ascent and descent
  • Practical technique tips for efficient climbing and confident riding
  • Group-based decision-making with a strong focus on safety, flow and fun in the terrain

In short: better understanding, smarter decisions and more rewarding days in the mountains.

Requirements

  • Confident off-piste skiing or riding in powder up to approx. 30°
  • Confident kick turns in terrain steeper than 30°
  • Personal touring or splitboard equipment (uphill mode, suitable skins, helmet)
  • Safety equipment: avalanche transceiver, probe & shovel

Practical information

  • Meeting point: at the PowderGuide & Penguin booth
  • Last-minute spots: If available, can be booked directly on site

This Advanced Freetour is designed for riders who don’t just want to tour—but want to truly understand terrain, conditions and decision-making at a higher level.
