Penguin Stories / Haute Route Impériale
This is the story of Vera – a Penguin fan and the newest member of the Penguin Family. Together with our guide Sam from Mountainplanet on the Haute Route Impériale.

Six days that felt like a whole little lifetime.
So intense that I didn’t always know if I was at my limit, or just unbelievably alive.
Early starts while the world was still asleep. Cold air in my lungs, sun on my face, skis on glaciers. And suddenly, everything felt simple.
In between: hut life. Melted cheese, beer, sun on our skin, doing absolutely nothing and somehow everything felt right again.
The route, a privilege. Step by step through landscapes that take your breath away and gently give it back.
And the people. The ones who don’t just share the mountains, but make them bigger.
Who turn a strong tour into something that stays.
And somewhere in the middle of it all: me.
Tired, happy, grateful – exactly where I’m supposed to be.
My first 4000m peak.
Moments I’ll carry for a long time.
